Teaching Activity

Lectures: Hygiene and Safety in Microbiology (100%), Biotechnology II (50%), Biotechnology in Food Industry (50%), Biotechnological Applications of Microorganisms (exercises), Food and Biochemical Technology.
Supervision of Technology Laboratory works and Laboratory Practice in Biotechnology.            
Supervisor of BSc, MSc and PhD theses (also of foreign ERASMUS students).

Current Research Topics

Production of biofuels by fermentation (1-butanol, ethanol), molecular biology of solventogenic Clostridia (possibility of increasing tolerance to ethanol), evaluation of physiological state of microoorganisms, production of secondary metabolites of the fungus Monascus purpureus.
